As we say goodbye to April showers and patiently await the beauty and fragrance of May flowers, now is the perfect time to do a little spring cleaning and refresh. 

In October of 2021, I realized I no longer had the comfortable, relaxed feeling I should when in my home. It occurred to me that I had not done a clearout in my kitchen; heck, I hadn’t done a clearout at all. 

 So I started my organizing journey with my kitchen:

1. I did a clearout of every cabinet and drawer.
2. I went through everything in my kitchen and disposed of expired food and spices.
3. I donated or sold dishes, utensils, cookware, etc., that I no longer used.
4. Then I moved and organized for a better layout.
5. I donated some items and listed a few for sale. 

After the clean-out, I cleaned up. I gave the cabinets a good clean and made a list of items I wanted to replace or add to my collection. My goal was to be intentional with the new things I sourced. In addition, I tried to keep in mind to opt for the more sustainable version. I found some great gems on Amazon. I have listed them for you below with a link.

Ninja DZ100 Foodi 4-in-1, 8-qt., 2-Basket Air Fryer with DualZone Technology   

The Ninja air fryer has changed the game for me. I cook more often than I used to. This air fryer is excellent. It is easy to make a healthy meal, and the clean-up is super quick. In addition, I have noticed the taste of my dish prepared in the air fryer is a lot better. I didn’t think I would use it as often as I have or that I would love it as much as I do. Since purchasing the Ninja air fryer, my weekly meal prep time no longer takes me 2 hours; I finish in less than 45 minutes.

Airtight Glass Storage Canister with Bamboo Lid 

Late last year, I decided to do a little kitchen refresh and wanted something clean and sustainable. I wasn’t looking to generate more work or limit myself to labels. So when I came across the airtight glass storage canisters with bamboo lids in a few size options, I was excited. I ordered two sets in different sizes, and they work perfectly.

Well, we can safely assume I like to be a little different. I didn’t want the round jar when looking for spice jars. When I saw an option for a square jar, I added it to the cart and purchased them. To make small changes for mother earth, I found these reusable grocery bags on Amazon. Not sure of the quality; but I purchased them anyway. They are perfect! There is a pocket on the side if you want to keep a pen and paper with you for making lists or your phone in. Need more space? Give these shelf organizers a try. They are adjustable and stackable. I live in an apartment, and I am happy to try anything I can use to offer more space. Bamboo Wooden Dish Rack

I was looking for some way to store the lids to my pots and ran across this dish drying rack. It fits perfectly in my cabinet and holds pot lids. Simple but effective. To see the one I purchased, click here. 

Kootek 6 Pcs Bamboo Drawer Organizer Utensil Tray 

The drawers in my kitchen are slightly larger than most. Unfortunately, the utensil tray I was using was too small and left an awkward amount of space on the side. I was hoping to find a tray that would fit my drawer and give extra room for storage, and this tray does it. I can keep my utensils in the center and coffee spoons and tea accessories on the sides.

When I decided to cut back on the plastic and chemicals I brought into my home; I searched Amazon for options. These clothes were a recommendation, and I decided to try them. I recommend them with a 10 out of 10. I no longer purchase cleaning supplies. Instead, I use water for my mirrors and windows with the blue cloth for a perfect shine.
